| The mighty Strip-O-gram apparently invented in the early 70's from the USA, its spread of popularity moved on to hit the UK and the rest of europe during the 80's and then eventually NZ. The word is
a combination of telegram and striptease. Typically a Strip-o-gram is often a form of gift givin for a hens/stag, birthday or farewell. A common practice is for the performer/ stripper/entertainer to be dressed in an outfit of one kind or another and to act out a charade of a
chosen charactor i.e. policeman, fireman, zorro, naughty nurse etc. and perform the role towards the lady or gentleman of honour which generally takes the center stage in a chair. |
An increasingly popular dynamic in this form of entertainment is the humiliation of the intended victim, with the use of comedy
gestures and prop usage - handcuffing, straddling, sexual positioning, blind folding, whipping etc, are but some of the acts that are roll played to achieve an all exhilarating performance. Each show performance is greatly effected by the way a performer reads his or
her crowd, by the way he/she uterlises there performance space and the different props and gestures that are used to gain a positive response.

In most cases a standard performance will generally take up to 15 minutes. This has served to be an optimal time frame so not
to over embaress the lady or gentleman of honour or to drag an act out for so long that you loose the attention of the crowd.
Once the performer has finished his or her act then they will need to collect their costume and be shown to a designated area to get
redressed. In some cases if the performer is not on a tight schedule then the oppurtunity for a requested pic or beverage may be available.
